There is very little evidence of a well developed knowledge of astronomy among the indigenous North Americans. We do know that methods were developed to determine the solstices, and that complex mythologies were created.

I will be visiting various Lakota and Anasazi sites between now and next Autumn. Be sure to check back for my report on native American astronomy.
