CCD Image Gallery - Nebulas
Nebulas are nearby regions of gas and dust. They may shine purely by reflected light, or may emit light when stimulated by nearby energetic stars. Some nebulas, such as the famous Horsehead, are cold dust that shadows whatever is behind them.
