This Halley-type periodic comet (T = 69 years) was discovered in 1815. It reached perihelion in June 2024. At its peak brightness (m = 6-7) it was an easy binocular object. These images were made when the comet was low in the sky during late twilight, so thin clouds, dust, and wildfire smoke significantly impact the apparent color.
