Cloudbait Construction

The pier was set in 1999, in preparation for a Mercury transit. Several instruments occupied the pier until the existing observatory was built out around it in 2001, at which point the primary instruments became an SBIG ST-8i camera on a fork mounted 300mm Meade LX200.

The construction began by building a floating platform around the pier. Then the walls were framed and sheathed, and the sliding roof rails were added. The roof was framed and covered, and various trim and internal walls were added. The project took about two weeks. The building remains in good condition after nearly 20 years.
