Comet C/2019 Y4 (ATLAS)
This comet was discovered by the ATLAS Survey in December, 2019. It is in a nearly open orbit, with a period of over 6000 years. Its perihelion distance is only about 0.25 AU. It brightened rapidly in the first few months of 2020, but in April it fragmented and the brightness dropped. It may or may not become significantly brighter as it nears perihelion around 31 May.
